Henry's Lunchbox - Week 11

This week Henry packed 5 days of school lunches. Unusually for Henry, he packed two lunches that he barely ate. He had a few days where he was only eating at every other meal lately. On both Monday and Thursday, he ate a huge breakfast, almost no lunch, a big afternoon snack and then just a few bites of dinner. On Wednesday, it was reversed.

It can be frustrating when he asks for food that he doesn't eat, especially when he makes a special request -- like Thursday's Oatmeal with blackberries. I know that children's attitudes about food is highly influenced by their parents. I will continue to encourage Henry to try a balanced variety of foods and trust that overall, Henry is getting what his body needs.

Henry was also happy to receivenotes withhis lunch box a few times this week.

Henry's Lunchbox - Week 10

This week Henry packed 4 days of school lunches. He used his hot lunch thermos for baked beans.

Midweek Henry asked me to start sending notes in his lunchbox. Another child in his class gets a friendly note from his dad every day and he asked me if I could send notes too. With a quick internet search, I found several cute and free printablelunchnotetemplates. I printed out a few sets that I think will work well for a preschooler who is not yet reading. I'm not sure that I will remember to send them every day, but he was excited to see one taped to his lunchbox.
