Henry's Lunchbox - Week 11

This week Henry packed 5 days of school lunches . Unusually for Henry , he packed two lunches that he barely ate. He had a few days where he was only eating at every other meal lately. On both Monday a nd Thursday, he ate a huge breakfast, almost no lunch, a big afternoon snack and then just a few bites of dinner. On Wednesda y, it was re verse d. It can be frustrating when he asks for food that he doesn't eat, especially when h e ma kes a special request -- like Thursday's Oatmeal with blackberries . I know that children's attitu des about food is highly influenced by their parents . I will continue to encourage Henry to try a balanced variety of foods and tr ust that overall, Henry is getting what his body needs.   Henry was also happy to receive notes with his lunch box a few times this we ek .   In case you missed the first post in this school lunch series, you can learn more about our family's lunchbox guidelines here . Henry's Lunchbox - Week 10

This week Henry packed 4 days of school lunches . He used hi s hot lunch thermos for baked beans .  Mid week Henry asked me to start sending notes in his lunchbox. Another child in his class gets a friendly note from his dad every day and he asked me if I c ould send notes too . With a qui ck internet s e arch, I found several cute and free printable lunch note t emplates . I printed out a few sets that I think will work well for a preschooler who is not yet reading. I'm not sure that I will remember to send them every day, but he was excited to see one tape d to his lunchbox.   In case you missed the first post in this school lunch series, you can learn more about our family's lunchbox guidelines here .
